Active 8 Holiday Clubs
We offer two fun based holiday schemes for children and young people aged 5 to 8 years and 8 to 14 years. Children can enjoy a wide range of arts and crafts, music, sports and games.
When are the Clubs open?
In 2011 the clubs will be open every weekday except for Bank Holidays between 25th July and 2nd September. The opening hours are 8.15am - 5.30pm.
Where are they based?
The Centre for the Child, Family and Society, Glyndŵr Universtity, Mold Road, Wrexham.
Little Scholars Holiday Club
Little Scholars Holiday Club is for children aged 5 - 8 years and is based at Little Scholars Nursery.
Little Scholars Holiday Club provides children with a wide range of activities planned with fun in mind.
The club aims to provide parents with complete peace of mind that their children are safe, happy and well cared for during the school holidays.
Typical activities include:
- Arts and crafts
- Music
- Board games
- Model making
- Sports
- Computer games
- Trips
Active 8 - 14 Holiday Club
Active 8 - 14 holiday club is designed to appeal to older children and teenagers.
Activities are carefully selected for this age group so that they are varied, enjoyable and appropriate. Our aim is for the young people to want to come back in future holidays. Club members are actively involved in choosing activities and planning the programme.
The emphasis is very much on fun and club members make lots of new friends.
Q – What sort of activities do Active 8 - 14 members do?
A – Typical activities include:
- A wide range of sports activities such as football, netball, basketball, kwik cricket, table tennis and team games.
- Board games
- Musical activities
- Computing
- Play Station and computer games
- Snooker/Pool
- Table Football
